Our goal is to meet investors objectives by providing a robust investment framework via actively managed & professionally run portfolios that combine all attributes known to deliver value ranging from high-level top down macro analysis to bottom-up stock picking. The investment team brings over 80 years’ of combined experience across investment research, asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment governance to provide a robust bespoke investment solution and add value to clients.

Sam Robson is the Founder of First Point Asset Management AFSL 483 004 providing direct Australian equity and comprehensive multi-asset portfolio management services to financial advisors and clients in the retail and wholesale market since 2016. Prior to that, Sam spent 14 years at Macquarie Bank (MB) including 3 years as a Portfolio Manager of the MB Core Australian Equity and Income Strategies, which exceeded their investment objectives at each reporting period since inception. Prior to his experience with Macquarie, Sam spent time as Vice President, Equity Portfolio Advice, with Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup (6 years) and as broker and Head of Scandinavian Currencies at Cantor Fitzgerald in London. Sam offers over 25 years of investment experience spanning across investment management, stockbroking, trading and client relations.

Brad Matthews

Brad Matthews

Founder, Brad Matthews Investment Strategies (BMIS)

Brad Matthews has over 30 years’ experience in the finance industry and is a highly regarded investment strategist. After working in the money and foreign exchange markets in the mid-1980s, Brad held various economist roles at St George Bank. He then moved into executive management positions at St George, including being the Head of the Cards and ATMs division. Prior to establishing his own investment consultancy business in 2015, Brad worked in investment research at the AMP Group for 12 years, which included roles as Head of Research and Head of Investment Strategy for AMP Group financial planning licensees. For the past 25 years, Brad has been editor of a newsletter known as “Plain English Economics”, which is read by secondary students studying economics.

Toby Lewis

(CFA, FRM, GAICD) | Founding Director, Harbour Reach

Toby Lewis is the Founder of Harbour Reach, an investment consulting firm providing support to the Australian wealth management industry. He spent the early part of his career in institutional funds management in London & subsequently developed an interest in applying institutional techniques to deliver specific investment outcomes for individuals. Prior to moving to Australia in 2010, Toby held roles in research and portfolio management at SG Global Private Banking and HSBC Private Wealth Managers. In Australia, Toby worked in research for Standard & Poor’s and UBS Wealth Management, before heading Research and Advisory for Citibank Wealth Management. He was mostly recently CIOr of ASX-listed licensee, Centrepoint Alliance. Toby holds a Bachelor of Laws honours degree and a Maîtres, both in English and French law, from the Universities of London and Paris respectively. He also holds a Master’s degree in Financial Economics from the University of London. He is a CFA charter holder, a certified Financial Risk Manager, and a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Michael Karagianis

Michael Karagianis is a Senior Consultant at JANA, responsible for Retail Partnerships. Michael has a total of 35 years of industry experience as a Senior Investment Strategist at NAB Asset Management, Head of Asset Allocation at UBS Global Asset Management in Australia & Global Head of Asset Allocation and Investment Strategy at Aberdeen Asset Managers in London. He graduated with a BEc from the University of Adelaide, and subsequently joined the Department of Treasury in Canberra as a Research Officer. He has worked and presented in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, North America and Europe.

Vessela Tasker

Director, Greenwood & Co

Vessela Tasker launched Greenwood & Co in 2019 to assist financial advisory firms with their investment value proposition by providing portfolio management, investment governance support & marketing of their bespoke investment solutions. Vessela offers 20 years of funds management experience gained as a Fund Manager of global & domestic beta & smart beta equity portfolios at State Street Global Advisors, a Research Equity Analyst at Investors Mutual and a Research Associate at AJO Partners, a US-based quant equity boutique based in Philadelphia, USA. More recently, Vessela was a Fund Manager at Ironbark Asset Management where she was instrumental in helping financial advisory firms design, launch and sustain multi-asset managed accounts on designated platforms. Vessela started her career in the United States as a corporate valuations consultant with PwC & holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance & Management Information Systems from Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA.

Pierre Paumier

Investment Professional

Pierre Paumier is a seasoned global equity investment professional with over a decade of experience. Pierre began his career on the sell-side at Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux in Frankfurt, Germany, where he trained as an equity research analyst. This foundation in rigorous fundamental analysis provided him with deep expertise in company valuation and financial modeling.

Building on this sell-side training, Pierre transitioned to buy-side roles in Sydney and London, serving as a Global Equity Analyst at Perennial Investment Partners and PineBridge Investments. In these positions, he honed his investment skills, developing a comprehensive approach to identifying quality companies with sustainable competitive advantages.

Pierre subsequently advanced to a portfolio management role at Wormser Frères Gestion in Paris, where he managed accounts for high-net-worth individuals and co-managed a concentrated long-only equity fund focused on developed market large-cap stocks. Under his tenure, the fund delivered an average annualized return of approximately 11.5% net of fees, outperforming its benchmark. His investment approach combines a rigorous process based on fundamental analysis with a long-term, high-conviction philosophy.

Pierre holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified ESG Analyst (CESGA). His academic credentials include an MSc in Investment Management from Cass Business School and an MSc in Operational Research from the London School of Economics.
